To figure out whether or not your wood floors are finished gone a polyurethane, shellac, wax or varnish, or have a finish that has worn away and is no longer providing coverage, the American Hardwood recommendation center suggests these tests: First is manage your hand higher than the wood. If you can air the texture of the grain, the Eternity Flooring Imperial Collection has a penetrating finish (usually a raptness of a natural oil, such as linseed or tung oil, impure gone additives for drying) topped gone wax. Second, in an out-of-the-way spot, dab upon a little paint remover. If the finish bubbles up, it is a surface finish, gone polyurethane, which coats the floor in a protective layer.
The third is in an out-of-the-way area, area a few drops of water. If the water beads up and does not soak into the wood, the finish upon the Eternity Flooring Imperial Collection is intact. If the water is absorbed into the floor or leaves a dark spot, the wood is unfinished or the protective addition has worn away. Fourth, if you sprinkle upon a few drops of water and white bad skin form beneath the droplets after roughly 10 to 15 minutes, the floors are solid gone wax. To remove the white spots, use a fragment of fine steel wool lightly dampened gone wax and massage gently. The last is if you suspect a varnish or shellac, resign yourself to a coin and scrape the surface of the floor in an inconspicuous corner. If the floor has been solid gone one of the older deed methods, it will flake off.
